Five More Sleeps

FIVE MORE SLEEPS Plans are coming together and I drive to Toronto Thursday and fly to New York on Friday.There was an interesting documentary movie on CHCH last night called: Half the Sky:Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. It focused of several women who had experienced horrible childhoods and/or adolescence and had turned their lives around and founded organizations to help save other girls who were sex slaves as young as 9. Scary and heartwarming all in one. It was wonderful to see what survivors were able to do to help other survivors. Human trafficking knows not geographic limits. This week a man from our area (rural Ontario) was charged with human trafficking for purposes of obtaining workers for his business. Stopping violence against women is a cause which the Secretary General of the United Nations has supported for many years. Last year his wife was a speaker on the International Women's Day.
